PGA/USGA Workshop Description
- Three-day workshop
- Access to either the 100-Question or 80-Question Exam on the morning of the fourth day (or online on a date you select from the exam schedule, available here.)
- Access to the Virtual Rules School video recordings
Attendance
- Be sure to sign in on the official class roster at the start of all morning and afternoon sessions each of the first three days.
- PGA of America members must enter their PGA eight-digit member number next to their name on the attendance roster and attend the workshop in its entirety to be credited with 24 Professional Development Requirement hours. No partial credit is given by the PGA of America.
Dress Code
Business casual recommended. Please no blue jeans, sweatpants or t-shirts.
Room Rate
- $149/night – a limited block of rooms is being held for workshop attendees at this rate. If you intend to stay at this hotel during the workshop, it is strongly recommended you make your reservation a soon as possible. If all rooms in the block become reserved, additional rooms may not be available at this or a higher rate. On September 29, 2022, any unreserved rooms will be released back into hotel inventory.

Breakfast and Refreshments
A complimentary continental breakfast, including at least one hot item, will be provided each morning starting by 7:10 a.m. During scheduled breaks, complimentary coffee, tea, water and soft drinks will be provided.
Expenses

About Your Instructors

David Staebler, USGA
David joined the USGA staff in 2007 and since 2010 has been the Director of Rules Education. As part of that role, he is the primary author of the PGA/USGA Rules of Golf workshop presentations and has been teaching PGA/USGA Rules of Golf Workshops since 2008. David has officiated at all 14 USGA Championships, as well as the Walker Cup match, The Open Championship (British Open) and the PGA Championship. He has been a volunteer official for GAP, previously the Golf Association of Philadelphia, for over 30 years. He has played in 3 USGA Championships.

Larry Startzel, PGA
Larry has been a member of PGA of America Rules of Golf Committee since 1982. He is a Past Chairman of the PGA Rules Committee and he has worked all four Major Championships. Larry has been a speaker at over 75 PGA/USGA Rules of Golf Workshops since 1984.

Bob Forward, USGA
Bob is a Golf Professional at River Greens Golf in Avon Park, FL. He is a PGA Master Professional and has worked at PGA Championships, the Masters Tournament, all PGA of America events and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Bob has coordinated 11 workshops.
