PGA/USGA Workshop Description

  • Three-day workshop
  • Access to either the 100-Question or 80-Question Exam on the morning of the fourth day (or online on a date you select from the exam schedule, available here.)
  • Access to the Virtual Rules School video recordings

Attendance

  • Be sure to sign in on the official class roster at the start of all morning and afternoon sessions each of the first three days.
  • PGA of America members must enter their PGA eight-digit member number next to their name on the attendance roster and attend the workshop in its entirety to be credited with 24 Member Service Requirement hours. No partial credit is given by the PGA of America.

Dress Code

Business  casual recommended. Please no blue jeans, sweatpants or t-shirts.

Room Rate

  • $179/night – a limited block of rooms is being held for workshop attendees at this rate. If you intend to stay at this hotel during the workshop, it is strongly recommended you make your reservation a soon as possible. If all rooms in the block become reserved, additional rooms may not be available at this or a higher rate. On February 9, 2023, any unreserved rooms will be released back into hotel inventory.

Breakfast and Refreshments

A complimentary continental breakfast, including at least one hot item, will be provided each morning starting by 7:10 a.m. During scheduled breaks, complimentary coffee, tea, water and soft drinks will be provided.

About Your Instructors

John Morrissett, USGA

John is the Competitions and Marketing Director at Erin Hills in Wisconsin. He was on staff at the USGA for 17 years in the Rules department and currently serves as a consultant to the Rules of Golf Committee. He has officiated at many national championships, including the U.S. Open, PGA Championship Players Championship and is the Rules Chairman of the Wisconsin State Golf Association. John has taught 55 PGA/USGA Rules of Golf Workshops.

Bryan Jones, PGA

Bryan is the Head Golf Professional at the Black Oak Golf Club in Long Valley, NJ. He is a past president of the New Jersey PGA Section and was the NJPGA Teacher of the Year (2000), Horton Smith Award winner (2010 & 2015) and Golf Professional of the Year (2012). Bryan was awarded the PGA National Horton Smith award in 2016. He has been a member of the PGA of America’s Rules Committee since 1996 and is currently its Senior Vice Chairman. He has officiated 13 PGA Championships, 3 Ryder Cups, 8 Masters, 3 British Opens, 3 KPMG/PGA Women’s Championships, 3 Senior PGA Championships, PGA Grand Slam of Golf, 2 PGA Cups, PGA Junior Ryder Cup, US Women’s Open, Senior Open, Junior Amateur, Senior Amateur, BMW European Tour Championship and over 250 PGA of America club professional events. Bryan has taught 25 PGA/USGA Rules of Golf Workshops since 1998.

Mike Bradshaw, USGA

Mike is currently a member of the PGA of America Rules Committee.  He has been a member of the PGA of America since 2003 and is the COO/Director of Golf at Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln, RI.  Mike also serves on the PGA of America Education Committee and is the current President of the New England PGA. 2022-2023 will be Mike’s first season as a PGA/USGA Rules of Golf Workshop Coordinator.
