PGA/USGA Workshop Description

  • Three-day workshop
  • Access to either the 100-Question or 80-Question Exam on the morning of the fourth day (or online on a date you select from the exam schedule, available here.)
  • Access to the Virtual Rules School video recordings

Attendance

  • Be sure to sign in on the official class roster at the start of all morning and afternoon sessions each of the first three days.
  • PGA of America members must enter their PGA eight-digit member number next to their name on the attendance roster and attend the workshop in its entirety to be credited with 24 Professional Development Requirement hours. No partial credit is given by the PGA of America.

Business  casual recommended.

  • $139/night – a limited block of rooms is being held for workshop attendees at this rate. If you intend to stay at this hotel during the workshop, it is strongly recommended you make your reservation a soon as possible. If all rooms in the block become reserved, additional rooms may not be available at this or a higher rate. On September 26, 2019, any unreserved rooms will be released back into hotel inventory.

Breakfast and Refreshments

A complimentary continental breakfast, including at least one hot item, will be provided each morning starting by 7:10 a.m. During scheduled breaks, complimentary coffee, tea, water and soft drinks will be provided.

Expenses

About Your Instructors

Jamie Wallace, USGA

 Jamie joined the USGA Rules team in 2015 and is currently Director, Rules – Technology, Content & Education. In his role, he oversees the Rules department’s education program as well as all department technology needs. He also gets to work in a Rules capacity at USGA Championships each season. Prior to joining the USGA, Jamie worked for an online tutoring and education company based in New York City. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 2008 and was a four-year member and captain of the Men’s Golf team.

Bryan Jones, PGA

Bryan W. Jones, PGA is the Head Golf Professional at the Black Oak Golf Club, located in Long Valley, New Jersey. He was elected to Class A PGA Membership in 1994. Bryan is a Past President of the New Jersey PGA Section. He is the recipient of multiple NJPGA Section Awards and was the 2015 PGA of America National Horton Smith Award winner for contributions to PGA Education. He was inducted as the 43rd PGA Professional into the NJPGA Hall of Fame in 2022. As an Assistant Golf Professional, Bryan was appointed to the PGA of America Rules Committee in 1996, the first Assistant ever to be chosen. His 26 years on the PGA Rules Committee has resulted in his rising the ranks of the Vice Chair roles and ultimately serving as Rules Chairman from 2019-2021. He currently serves as the Honorary Rules Chairman. Bryan has officiated 42 ‘majors’, 11 USGA Championships, 6 Ryder Cups (including as Chief Referee at Whistling Straights & as Referee at the last 2 international Cups in Paris & Rome). In service to his Association, Bryan has officiated over 300 PGA of America National and Sectional Championships. Rules education is a true passion that began with his first workshop in 1990. To date Bryan has attended, Coordinated and Instructed over 50 PGA/USGA Rules of Golf Workshops.

Robin Curtis, USGA

 Robin is a PGA Quarter Century Member who has worked for the PGA of America as a Rules Official for the PGA Winter Championships and Winter Series program since 2003. She was appointed to the PGA Rules Committee in 2016. In her time on the Committee she been an instructor or coordinator at numerous PGA/USGA Rules of Golf Workshops.
