PGA/USGA Workshop Description
- Three-day workshop
- Access to either the 100-Question or 80-Question Exam on the morning of the fourth day (or online on a date you select from the exam schedule, available here.)
- Access to the Virtual Rules School video recordings
Attendance
- Be sure to sign in on the official class roster at the start of all morning and afternoon sessions each of the first three days.
- PGA of America members must enter their PGA eight-digit member number at registration or next to their name on the attendance roster and attend the workshop in its entirety to be credited with 24 Professional Development Requirement hours. No partial credit is given by the PGA of America.

Business casual recommended.

- $164/night (includes parking) – a limited block of rooms is being held for workshop attendees at this rate. If you intend to stay at this hotel during the workshop, it is strongly recommended you make your reservation a soon as possible. If all rooms in the block become reserved, additional rooms may not be available at this or a higher rate. On March 5, 2026, any unreserved rooms will be released back into hotel inventory.

Breakfast and Refreshments
A complimentary continental breakfast, including at least one hot item, will be provided each morning starting by 7:10 a.m. During scheduled breaks, complimentary coffee, tea, water and soft drinks will be provided.
Expenses

About Your Instructors
Ryan Farb, USGA
Ryan joined the USGA in April of 2021 and is currently the Assistant Director, Rules – Technology, Content & Education where his focus is on Rules education, primarily Rules Workshops and the USGA Rules of Golf exams. Prior to joining the USGA, Ryan worked in various roles for the Northern California Golf Association for nearly 14 years, most recently as the Director of Rules & Competitions. Ryan has competed in one USGA championship and graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Latin and Classical Culture.
Brad Gregory, PGA
Brad is the Director of Rules for the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships. In 1998, he was appointed to the PGA Rules Committee and served as Vice Chair 2005-2010 and Co-Chair 2011-2014. Brad has served as a Rule Official at over 180 National or International Championships, including 44 Majors, eight Ryder Cups and two Solheim Cups. He’s a two-time winner of the Southwest Section PGA’s Professional Development award for work in member education. Brad has been inducted into the Iowa Golf Hall of Fame. He has taught 36 PGA/USGA Rules of Golf Workshops since 2000.
Michael Thomas, PGA
Michael has been a PGA member since 2008 currently working as the Director of Instruction at Chartwell Golf & Country Club in Severna Park, MD. Michael began serving on the PGA of America Rules Committee in 2025 after a long history of officiating events for the Middle Atlantic PGA, the Maryland State Golf Association, the Middle Atlantic Golf Association, the NCAA, and serving as the lead official for a PGA Tour Monday Qualifier. Michael has become a living Rules resource for fellow club professionals and the section office as the Rules Committee Chair for the MAPGA. Having attended more than 12 workshops since 2010, this is his first year as a coordinator.
